Shiplake College is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Learning Development teacher to join a friendly and busy department to cover a period of maternity leave (for up to one year) starting in September 2025. Your role will be dedicated to supporting pupils with specific learning difficulties, primarily SpLD-Dyslexia, to enhance their attainment, confidence, and self-esteem.
Shiplake College is committed to a holistic and inclusive approach to education, supporting a higher-than-average number of pupils with various types and levels of Special Educational Needs (SEN). The role would suit an energetic teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning with excellent knowledge of SEN, specifically SpLD-Dyslexia and who can inspire and challenge our pupils.
Shiplake College is an independent boarding and day school for around 540 pupils aged 11 to 18. There has been a co-educational Sixth Form since 1998 and in September 2023 girls joined in Year 7, as we look to the future as fully co-educational. Situated in 63 acres of beautiful countryside near Henley-on-Thames, we offer an outstanding education based on small class sizes, excellent facilities and dedicated teaching staff. All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the busy programme of co-curricular activities on offer.
We offer a competitive salary, excellent free lunches and a contributory pension scheme together with access to our gym and sporting facilities and an excellent working environment.
