Are you ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? Do you want to be supported in leading a vibrant, diverse school as Head of School?

We are seeking a positive, resilient, ambitious and forward-thinking leader to join us on our journey as we continue to develop ‘The Watchfield Way’ and support our community to flourish.  This role provides a platform to lead a distinct and dynamic primary school while benefiting from the strategic support of our Executive Head and wider Cambrian Learning Trust team.

As a visionary leader, the Head of School will be responsible for the day-to-day management, teaching and learning, and operational success of the school. They will develop and implement strategic plans, inspire and empower staff through professional development, support constructive partnerships with parents and carers and foster an ethos of high standards, accountability, and collaboration among staff, pupils, and the wider community.

If you are motivated to shape the future of our school, drive innovation, and support every child to ‘SOAR’, we encourage you to come and join us!

We’re looking for an inspiring, resilient, and experienced leader who:

  • Has a proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils and delivering exceptional teaching and learning.
  • Has excellent curriculum knowledge from EYFS to Year 6, especially as we have mixed year groups.
  • Is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in every aspect of school life.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about developing others.
  • Is an excellent communicator, leads by example and drives the vision of the school forward.
  • Is ambitious, reflective, and driven to make a lasting impact on the lives of pupils and the school community.

Why join us?

  • Leadership Support: Work closely with an experienced Executive Head and a collaborative network of leaders across Cambrian Learning Trust. This includes a close working relationship with Shrivenham Primary School.
  • Professional Growth: Access tailored professional development opportunities, including our Centre of Professional Excellence, coaching and leadership training, to help you achieve your aspirations.
  • Exciting Challenge: Shape the culture, curriculum, and success of a school that champions inclusivity, diversity, innovation, and high standards for all.
  • Collaborative Environment: Share best practices and ideas with passionate educators across our Trust, contributing to collective success.
  • The Watchfield Community: Not only do you get to be part of a dynamic, dedicated team of teachers and support staff who want the best for our students, you also get to work with enthusiastic, friendly and aspirational children who are determined to ‘SOAR’ and be the best they can be.

With the possibility of working in a circa 20 school Trust with substantial personal and professional development opportunities, we can offer the successful candidate:

  • Access to an extensive programme of further learning and resources centred around professional excellence;
  • Opportunities to collaborate across the Trust with a group of dedicated and hard-working School and Trust leaders;
  • An outward thinking Board of Trustees with a strong educational ethos committed to a journey of improvement.
  • In return for your energy, passion, and ambition, as a Trust Headteacher you will be welcomed into our innovative partnership of Headteachers and central trust team; supporting both your own ambition and continuing professional development, and that of your school and staff.
