Do you believe in adding value to every single pupil? Do you want to work in a school where every pupil is challenged to achieve their personal best? Do our three core values of inclusive, individual and inspirational resonate with you?

If this sounds like you and you like sweet treats in the staff room, the idea of dogs around site and a calendar of staff socials, then, please read on.

Shiplake College is seeking to appoint a dynamic and forward-thinking Teacher of Computer Studies to teach across all key stages from September 2025. This is a superb opportunity for a suitably qualified practitioner to play a leading role in this enthusiastic department. The successful candidate will be able to contribute to the department’s diverse curriculum which includes Computing at KS3, Computer Science GCSE and A level and a bespoke Digital Literacy curriculum in Years 7-9.

The role would suit an energetic teacher who is committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning; a teacher who can inspire and challenge all our pupils. Applications are welcomed from teachers who will strive for excellence in all aspects of the Computer Studies curriculum. Applicants should be able to create a rigorous environment for our pupils to thrive and be able to instil a passion for learning.

Shiplake College is an independent boarding and day school for around 540 pupils aged 11 to 18.  There has been a co-educational Sixth Form since 1998 and in September 2023 girls joined in Year 7, as we look to the future as fully co-educational. Situated in 63 acres of beautiful countryside near Henley-on-Thames, we offer an outstanding education based on small class sizes, excellent facilities and dedicated teaching staff. All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the busy programme of co-curricular activities on offer.

We offer a competitive salary, excellent free lunches and a contributory pension scheme together with access to our gym and sporting facilities and an excellent working environment.

Closing date: Monday 10 February 2025, 10.00am.

Interviews to be held on Wednesday 12 February 2025.
