Teacher of Photography

Required for September 2024

Maternity cover fixed term contract for up to a year

Do you believe in adding value to every single pupil? Do you want to work in a school where every pupil is challenged to achieve their personal best? Do our three core values of inclusive, individual and inspirational resonate with you?

If this sounds like you and you like sweet treats in the staff room, the idea of dogs around site and a calendar of staff socials then, please, read on.

Shiplake College is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of Photography to teach A-level Photography. We are looking for someone who is experienced in using Mac computers for Photoshop, has expertise in teaching across the ability range, with a love for art and photography, and a passion for promoting them in curricular and co-curricular time. The ability to teach art would be an advantage.

This post provides an excellent opportunity within a department with exceptional facilities and where results are consistently outstanding.

This is a superb opportunity for a suitably qualified practitioner to join a successful and innovative department. The role would suit an energetic teacher committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning; a teacher who can inspire and challenge all our pupils to achieve their personal bests. This could present a great opportunity for an ECT.

Shiplake College is an independent boarding and day school for just over 500 pupils aged 11 to 18. There has been a co-educational Sixth Form since 1998 and in September 2023 girls joined in Year 7 as the College goes fully co-educational. Situated in 45 acres of beautiful countryside near Henley-on-Thames, we offer an outstanding education based on small class sizes, excellent facilities and dedicated teaching staff. All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the busy programme of co-curricular activities on offer.

We offer a competitive salary, excellent free lunches and a contributory pension scheme together with access to our gym and sporting facilities and an excellent working environment.

Closing date: 10am, Monday 13 May 2024

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 May 2024
