We are looking to recruit a forward thinking, organised and enthusiastic Work Experience Project Manager for the River Learning Trust (RLT) to support the delivery of high quality work experience across our Secondary Schools. This is a new role within RLT, and although there is a wealth of knowledge and experience within our schools, this role will work independently to set up a full work experience programme for the Trust.  The focus would initially be 4 or 5 schools in proximity to Oxford.  Whilst this is initially a fixed term contract, there will be scope to develop the role and potentially a team over time to offer services to other RLT and non-RLT schools.  You will have the opportunity to have a base at one RLT school and also opportunities for home working.

One of our schools will also shortly be advertising for a Careers Lead role and should a combined role of work experience project management and schools careers leadership be of interest, please note this on your application.

The successful candidate will be required to have the ability to network, develop and maintain strong and sustainable relationships with employers with a particular focus on local Oxfordshire business (small, medium and large). The candidate will also establish active partnerships with local secondary school work experience coordinators.

Key elements of the role include:

  • Building effective partnerships with employers

  • Networking with local school work experience coordinators

  • Establishing and implementing robust systems to support the work experience programme

  • Support work experience coordinators with supporting their students before, during and after work experience placements

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the River learning Trust.  We are passionate about providing the right experience to help student careers aspirations and understanding of the world of work.

We offer excellent benefits including a comprehensive continuous professional development programme, free onsite parking and 28 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays and a pension scheme.

To find out more about the role do please contact Jason Davies, Careers Leader and Careers Adviser via jda@cheney.oxon.sch.uk

To apply for this post please apply through the RLT page on the TES portal ensuring that within the section entitled Supporting Statement you demonstrate how you meet the requirements within the Person Specification as well as providing an outline as to why you have applied for this post, with examples of how your career thus far has prepared you for this role.

The closing date for applications is Monday 11 October at 9am.  Interviews will take place in the week beginning 18th October.

River Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and preventing extremism.  All staff are expected to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. The River Learning Trust is an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications from a range of backgrounds to represent diversity in line with our schools’ community.
