Matthew Arnold School is a secondary comprehensive with over 1100 students aged 11 – 18, in a pleasant setting just west of the A34, overlooking the city of Oxford, with an excellent local reputation.

We are committed to being an effective and inclusive school, serving the needs of all the students in our community.   We would like to appoint an excellent colleague to coordinate our Student Support Team, who has experience of working with adolescents who have BESD/SEMH or are experiencing difficulties in engaging with school.

You will have run intervention and support programmes to enable students to overcome their difficulties and thrive in school, having a good working knowledge of barriers to learning, symptoms of anxiety and trauma, and behaviour management strategies. You will know how CAMHS and social care can support learners.  As the coordinator of the team, you will have had experience of working in a team, or managing a team, in a school or educational setting.

We require a committed and enthusiastic person with great interpersonal skills and knowledge to support students to engage in school and progress in their learning.  This role will liaise closely with the SENCO and School Counsellor in school.

Grade 8: 37 hours a week, 38 weeks a year plus 5 additional days (school term plus Inset days). Starting salary £20,470 p.a. for these hours.
