A vacancy has arisen due to the retirement of our existing SENCO.  Are you a qualified Primary Special Education Needs Co-ordinator looking to secure a new permanent position to commence September 2018?

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a secure understanding of the distinctive nature of the Catholic school and Catholic education
  • Has an excellent understanding of the Primary National Curriculum and wants to make a difference to children’s education
  • Hold the National Award for SENCO and have knowledge of the new SEND Code of Practice.
  • Have the ability to articulate and demonstrate the characteristics of effective planning, teaching and learning and assessment strategies for all abilities
  • Can demonstrate that they can lead SEN with confidence; holding staff to account, evidencing whole school impact
  • You will have experience of SEND and its legislation and be able to lead on all aspects of inclusion in school including SEND, EAL, LAC, intervention programmes and equality
  • Have experience of the writing and reviewing of Educational Health and Care Plans
  • Is able to challenge and motivate all learners, meeting all individual needs
  • Has the ability to contribute to developing all teaching to ensure that it is appropriately pitched as a result of accurate assessment
  • Can work effectively within the leadership team and beyond to act strategically on the priorities identified through self-evaluation to make an impact on progress
  • Is an experienced, innovative and inspirational teacher who demonstrates enthusiasm and is an effective team player
  • Can communicate effectively with staff, pupils and parents
