Wye School has a vision of excellence, a vision shared by all staff and pupils. Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2018, the school is dedicated to ensuring each student gains the knowledge, confidence and skills to make a success of their future lives. The school currently caters for Years 7 -12 pupils and will complete sixth form growth in September 2019, growing to a roll of 600, housed in our new permanent building which has individually designed learning spaces offering an outstanding environment for staff and pupils. The first GCSE results in 2018 were above average for Progress 8 and above national average Attainment 8.

Located within close proximity of the village centre, it is at the very heart of the local community and has the potential to grow into a truly exceptional school. Wye is perfectly located to enjoy the Kent countryside, whilst still being within an hour of London thanks to HS1.

The role

Wye School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated ICT Technician to join our friendly team.  Reporting to the School Business Manager, with input from a Senior Technology Specialist, the role will entail providing dedicated onsite support to staff and students to ensure an outstanding level of ICT provision for the school.  This will include responding to helpdesk enquiries and user admin requests,  managing ICT hardware and software assets, monitoring network performance and security systems, and troubleshooting day-to-day issues.  The role will be busy and varied with no two days the same.

A can-do and flexible approach is essential, along with the ability to prioritise multiple demands.  Full details are provided on the attached job description.

United Learning

Wye School is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
